Charlie's balloons.
Good drive today, and whilst I have nothing negative to say about Portugal, I am pleased to be back in Spain.
Jerez de los Caballeros ,is a typical Spanish rural town with apparent simplicity and peaceful style. The "Caballeros" part of the name goes back to the Knights Templar times, and was a stronghold until the arrival of some guy named Bartolome who built one of the towns two very fancy churches.
Once again we were caught out by the change of time zones, Esp being an hour ahead of Por.
Couldn't get to eat in the hotel restaurant, so went walkabout and found the Plaza Espagna which was full of locals drinking and eating whilst their offspring ran riot around the square. Great spectator sport.
I chose to dine on roast marinated suckling pig. There was so much that I could not finish it. (Sorry Bill).
Off to sleep now, indigestion permitting. Quite a long drive tomorrow to Mijas Pueblo. Catch up then.
Extras: Around Jerez d l Cabs.
