Young scientist at work

We picked Eben up from school, and then Josh and Ruth came over later with Luca, in time for a celebratory tea for Josh's 36th birthday.
Eben had a science kit with him, and was keen to use the magnifying glass to set something alight in the garden. It didn't work this time - we weren't really very well-organised, and anyway clouds kept scudding across in front of the sun. So we got the full kit out instead and set about preparing a base for a bacteria-growing experiment. We'll see what that produces :-)
