A change in the weather

We've been lucky enough to avoid the drought that many places south of us in Europe, and in other parts of the world, have suffered. But the summer has still been unusually kind to us. Rain has arrived in small bursts, often at night. The sun has shone a lot, but not with any extreme heat. The general feeling is we have had a long dry, somewhat cool, summer.
But today this changed. Grey clouds gathered and got darker, and almost to the minute the predicted rain started to fall. A day of rain is no problem but this rain is forecast to come down for the next 5 days, often heavily and without many pauses.  I guess the summer is over...
