Small Coves & Turquoise Blue Seas
We had a pleasant drive across to Paleokastritsa this morning. Lots of small coves with turquoise blue sea nestling along the coast is exactly the picture I had in my mind of Corfu before we came and here it is. We parked the car at the side of the road and wandered the half mile or so uphill to the 18th century monastery on top of the promontory. It was a really peaceful place with wonderful gardens.
On the way back down, at the request of the boys, we stopped in to the Corfu Aquarium. We had a tour from James who obviously loved all the fish and reptiles in the collection, although slightly put off by Sushi being able to answer all his questions and having had half his collection as pets! It was really good and great to be able to identify some of the fish we saw scuba diving on Monday.
After a delicious lunch, inspired by the fish we saw, with recently purchased masks we stopped off at the beach for the remainder of the afternoon.
