Down the Firth
Today brought one of these blue, wonderful afternoons when our bit of Argyll seemed to have the best weather for the many miles that we could see from this vantage point above Strone Point. The water in the foreground is the mouth of the Holy Loch, with two boats at the Western Ferries terminal. Diagonally across the river is the Inverkip Power Station chimney, now about the only bit of the building left after demolition works. In the blue haze of the distance you can just make out, from left to right, the Ayrshire coast, Bute, and the southern tip of Arran.
