Raging bull

Stayed in Shrewsbury last night and caught a train over to Birmingham today to meet up with a couple of pals from Uni days.
Started off with a cream tea and talk at the Assay office - learned about their history (250 next year), and what they do (testing and hall marking precious metals). Bit of an unusual visit but very interesting. Big changes ahead as the new King will mean a new hallmark, and the special hallmark for the Platinum Jubilee has stopped. I’m not expecting that to affect me personally.
After that we had a stroll round the sights of Brum - great to see the Raging bull from the Commonwealth Games parked up outside the library. Rounded off the afternoon with a couple of cocktails . And finally chips for tea whilst catching up on all things Royal family related.
