Double Header

The day began with a wait for the hospital to ring, and then a drive down to Southmead to drop my happy little appendage off. And then home alone again! What to do... 

Happily CleanSteve emailed me a reminder (thanks!) there was steam coming through the village. I'd missed it southbound because of driving into Bristol, but I got them on the return. Because it was a them.

In front and under fire is 45331 'The Sherwood Forester', with 70000 'Britannia' making all the steam behind. Both drivers have their heads out, checking the half dozen stood here were no more than nutty trainspotters...

It's quite a gloomy photograph. It was raining gently and the thick clouds almost obliterated the steam altogether. I pushed the shot by two stops then pulled it back in post. But first the lonely walk home...
