It Never Rains but it Pours
The now daily swim was done in drizzly weather at 9am, so the forecast got that wrong. In fact it looked so miserable that I took the bus through to Kirkwall for a coffee and a look round the shops.
This house near the famous tree in the Albert Street always attracts me by its colour in amongst otherwise grey buildings.
By the time I left Kirkwall the sun was shining although it wasn’t shining quite so brightly in Stromness which must have been a disappointment for the 3 coach loads of tourists disembarking to see the sights and clog the town.
I spent the afternoon talking to the RBS fraud squad having been scammed into parting with a sizeable amount of money which I thought was helping one of the children who had sent a WhatsApp saying her phone was broken and in transferring files to the replacement one, her bank accounts had been frozen and she needed to make a payment. Yes I know, STUPID but as the scammed always say , the message appeared so genuine. I live in hope they will get the money back but it’s a lesson learned the hard way.
