Sunday afternoon jazz

On impulse, Richard booked tickets for Doncaster Jazz Orchestra this afternoon, playing at Crookes Social Club near us.
What a discovery - they were full of energy and swing. And they played some funky numbers too.
They are doing gigs to mark the 50th anniversary of the Doncaster Youth Jazz Association - a truly impressive outfit.

At the beginning they played a version of the national anthem that might have made her departed majesty smile - not the usual dreary dirge but a jaunty, almost cheeky number.

What with the gig, and the news of big Ukrainian advances - a good day.
