Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Gorse

Even on a fairly dull day the gorse bushes on the moor were alive with bees, hoverflies and sp*ders. And this Common Field Grasshopper joined the party - the bright red at the tip of its abdomen provides quite a contrast.

I walked up Green Lane to Hope Gate, and then across to Dobrudden (Snipe near the big ponds again) before descending to the cabins at Sconce and returning via Moorside.

It brightened up a bit half way round: lots of Speckled Wood butterflies, and one each of Comma and Small White.
