Machynlleth
After a journey of almost 7 hours (including two stops) - the last 4 miles of which took 75 minutes, due to traffic problems - we arrived home from our trip to Pembrokeshire. It was very successful. On the last two nights we had terrific meals in local restaurants. For a small town, Newport has numerous excellent places to eat, drink and shop for food. I took a couple of shots of our stumbles back to our cottage. We will certainly stay in Newport again.
On the way home today we stopped in Machynlleth, which was pleasant. It claims to be the "ancient capital of Wales” having been the seat of Owain Glyndwr's Welsh Parliament in 1404. Sadly we didn't have time to visit the Centre for Alternative Technology.
