'Leave it out, it will be okay.'

These were the words of neighbour S as I suggested we take in her washing because of the big, dark cloud coming over.  We've had so many 'fake showers' recently, I could understand but then......

It wellied it down and flashed and rumbled and banged, and we were both glad we had decided to take it in.

Tony and I have spent much of the day bottoming our bedroom and giving it a thorough clean.  Amazing how much time it takes to remove furniture; go through drawers etc. for a charity shop clearout; dust; hoover; wipe down woodwork and return furniture.  Add in the stopping to reminisce about the words on that bit of paper; Becky's note to the toothfairy about her loose tooth going down the loo; those photos long forgotten;  Jenny's penguin t-shirt at the bottom of the drawer.  Tough decisions to make about orienteering tops from way back when - are we ever going to wear them again?  And who knew that mystery box tucked away under the bed contained Becky's old Uni printer which, unsurprisingly, she no longer wants.

Right Wendy, storm through - we discovered we have a blocked fall pipe, bah!  No excuse not to get back to it, and remember that lightshade will need wiping down......
