Bhaji Off!

I was Run Director at Parkrun this morning so it was up early and off with Bev to set up the course and oversee operations.  On our return we were relaxing with cuppas when there was a knock at the door and Neighbour Pete was there with a plate asking a favour, could we taste his onion bhaji?

Some explanation is required.  Tomorrow it is the Village Horticultural Show and villagers are busy preparing fruit, veg, baking, photographs etc to take part.  The bhaji section of the Show is hotly contested, mainly I believe by men, and Neighbour Mick in the middle of my blip here, has taken the honours for several years.  Pete saw this as a challenge and has cooked his first batch of bhajis in the hope of stealing away Mick's crown, all quite friendly of course.

Tony and I pronounced the bhaji as tasty and then we headed out to see what the Bhaji Baron thought.  I think he is worried......

Note the bloomin' scaffolding is still up, grrrr!
