Stamps from 1952

Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday afternoon and I feel very sad.  Given her age, we knew it was coming but it feels very strange now that it has happened.  I thought she would go on for ever.  Thank you, Ma'am, for your years of dedicated service and duty.

I have been watching the comings and goings at various royal residences today on the BBC and listening to the pundits giving their views.  I also enjoyed some of the tributes to her in Parliament.  Quite cathartic and amusing.

So, now we have to get to get used to hearing 'King Charles III'.  Sounds very strange at the moment but he had a good reception from the crowds when he arrived at Buckingham Palace earlier, which is excellent and must be very encouraging for him.
