Don't worry - bee happy!

Backblip. Joy. Deep joy! The bees are back in town! I loved photographing bees last summer and blipping some of them on here. And now they are back again! This is my first bumblebee photo on 2013 and I am pretty certain it is a queen Garden bumblebee, Bombus hortorum. The central yellow band spans the join between the thorax and abdomen and it had a white bum (obscured here). As a marine biologist, I'm always a little nervous posting insect identifications on here but I am blessed with knowledgeable friends who will keep me right! The bee is inside one of our red tulips (Red Riding Hood?) and you can see grains of pollen sticking to its hairy body.
