Granada
We drove to Granada mainly to look at the Alhambra Palace. It was not really what I was expecting. We missed getting a guidebook or audio guide so didn’t have a clue what we were looking at. There’s a quite nice pond in the extras.
I enjoyed looking round Granada and we found a good restaurant for lunch. We only wanted a snack really but we were spectacularly up-sold by the waiter and ended up with some amazing deep fried croquets, piles of garlicky bread and then this gigantic plate of meat, cheese and fruit. It was heavenly but way too much food for lunchtime especially when we had an hour long walk in searing heat, mostly uphill to get back to the car park.
Home for a couple of hours on the terrace where we are now watching the sun go down with a couple of gin and tonics.
