Gone Rogue

This praying mantis impressively ate three butterflies this evening. It was quick at its work, so I was only able to catch it finishing off the black swallowtail. It consumed three butterflies that we could see, a black swallowtail, a yellow swallowtail, and a spangled fritillary.  All of this action was going on just inches from the garden spider in the hedgerow.

Tomorrow my youngest granddaughter starts pre-school, and tonight I turned off my 6 o'clock alarm.
