Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2022 Monday — Mercado & Mr. Fun

We really were not sure if the construction team would work today. We know that construction workers sometimes work holidays as if they did not exist. No one had told us yesterday when they exited what we should expect today.

We got out of bed early, made sure our car and our daughter's car were not blocked in the garage nor blocking the parking area in front of our house. One thing for sure is that there is not much parking on our narrow little street. None of the workers were here by 9:00 and we were fairly sure then that none would be arriving.

About 10:15 Mercado arrived in a work truck bigger than the pick-up truck with the pipe rack that was left here yesterday. He did a few little things here, spoke with Mr. Fun for a few minutes, and then left in the smaller pickup truck to go purchase a few supplies. When he had not returned after a few hours, we thought we would not see him till tomorrow. Then about 2:30 Mercado pulled-in in front of our house with a pickup bed full of supplies. He unloaded the supplies and then took some time to just relax and converse with us on our patio.

After a while he stood-up and said, "I talk too much; I need to go," and then he laughed. He has a wonderful laugh. We knew he still had some supplies to deliver to another job, so again we were blessed that he had spent time with us.

So even though no construction work was accomplished here today, supplies were brought here to assure that work will happen tomorrow. Mercado told us that we would see workers from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. tomorrow.

Our daughter is still here. She cooked dinner this evening. After our dinner was finished and we cleaned the kitchen, she headed to the grocery store in Morro Bay so that she can cook tomorrow evening's meal later tonight.

Then Mr. Fun & I put leashes and harnesses on the two pups and walked them a couple of neighborhood blocks here just as the sun was going over the hills and mountains to the north of us. We are seeing signs of the season changing and soon we will see the sun going down on the ocean's horizon. The past several nights we have watched the moon set into the ocean; that's pretty spectacular.

From California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
