Never Shop on An Empty Tummy

We decided we can leave a day early for our WV trip. Hubby and I started our preparations in earnest. He finished trimming the property. That took hours. I deadheaded the butterfly bushes until it was too warm outside and started our trip check list. Mancil, Brooklyn and Maddie stopped by for a visit and brought us Crumbl cookies. So happy to see them. Hubby and I went grocery shopping but first used our BOGO coupon at the ice cream shop. You can see he got the more generous scoop but that suited me. He hurried me along taking the photo because his was starting to melt. I really wanted a different angle. As usual, many shelves were empty at the market. But we understand the food shortages will get much worse. We will stop on our way to the farm for items with a short shelf life (bread milk, cold cuts). My son is providing dinner. They invited us over for a pool party but we really needed to get a few jobs behind us. We still have the evening for reading. Thanks for visiting. We rarely get updates on what’s happening in Ukraine. Hopefully that means there aren’t many casualties these days. Stay safe. “Life is like an ice cream: Enjoy it before it melts." - Unknown
