A Statue of Queen Victoria. Blackburn
The Feast Day of St. Bertin.
It has been a warm morning with a temperature of 22c, outdoors and 21.5c indoors. Many local primary schools returned this morning so there is a bit of a buzz about the place and more cars on the road.
After breakfast and the rosary, Paul drove us to Blackburn. He was looking for a new cardigan from a gift voucher for his retirement from his work colleagues, but the range in M&S is not suitable, in his opinion, for the Autumn Winter season. The clothing choices are still in that Summer Autumn transition phase. Many things were £35, including shirts and men's trousers. It was an education seeing it all from his perspective.
Then we went looking for some walking shoes for me and I am pleased with the ones we found in Trespass, in their sale. They could be a future blip. Black lace ups with a magenta lining and strong soles.
I have been watching the News and Liz Truss is announced as the new Prime Minister.
I hope you all have a good Monday and take care.
