New dorm

After the big old wobble of yesterday from news of the dorm, we had a few tears on the way to school. But we stopped for a pointe shoe fitting which went well. We bought an emergency bacon butty. Which went well. There were a few more wobbles but we made it. And once we were there, things settled. I was able to spend all the time she needed in the dorm with her, settling her and unpacking her. She asked me to stay until she was finished and we were really pleased with her space. I think she's got the most perfect for Katie space in the room. She's got a bit of privacy being under the bed but without being right under and claustrophobic. She's got the window and we've made a book nook from it. She had less storage than the others but we'd bought various organisation devices to help and because of that it all is able to work well.

I had a meeting with her house parent and various concerns were ironed out and discussed and I'm very happy now.

They're introducing a new "families" system in the house, and Katie is "mummy" in hers. She's got two gorgeous little juniors, aged 8 and 9, to take under her wing and mother. She's super excited about that.

I had some car drama outside the boarding house which meant I had to stick around a bit longer than hoped. Katie was very surprised to see me still there when she returned from supper but she was very chilled about it. I think we are all good...

(Those who like to write her, the address hasn't changed. And she adores the post thank you).
