A View From The Castle

We picked up Sophie this morning and drove down to Dunster Castle near Minehead for a tour of the castle, a stroll round the grounds and a picnic.

There was a hill fort here in Saxon times and a castle since William The Conqueror gave the land to one of his sidekicks at the Battle Of Hastings. Given the commanding view of the coastline, as seen in the blip, you can see why.

We had a walk down to the water mill where they were grinding flour and the Miller showed Sophie how it all worked, then we had a play in the natural play area. Sophie and Grandma are mirroring each other on the seesaw in extras
