Just out of reach......

We did the food shop this morning and called in past the pond on the way back to see what the ducks and geese were up to. There was only one pair of Canada Geese; the rest must have relocated for the breeding season.

Last year a female nested on the island in the pond, not sure if this is the same bird. She was initially sitting on the eggs, but as she stretched forward for more nesting material she shuffled off. There appears to be three eggs in the nest.

I spent the afternoon in the garden, interrupted at intervals to load and unload the washing machine. Weather forecast for tomorrow is good, so I will get back outside to finish clearing the bed round the apple tree.
