Gilling Castle

Today’s venue for some fast and furious sprint orienteering. The main is of the old cricket pavilion ( how many orienteers can you spot?) and the extra shows competitors navigating through the buildings and grounds.

The castle was once the seat of the Viscounts Fairfax before becoming Ampleforth College’s junior school, St Martin’s, from 1929 until it merged with the main site in 2019. Since then it has been up for sale. If you have £3.75 million available it could be yours!
