Hall in Tyrol
D. and I went again to Innsbruck. The weather forecast said rain again, so even without rain it would be quite cloudy, going up to a mountain peak would not result in seeing a lot.
Together with Renfrebar we first went to Schloß Ambrass. We only looked at it from the outside, but even that was worth the visit.
Then we went to Hall in Tirol. This village has a lovely inner-city. Narrow streets, old houses, a lot of churches, a castle, etc.
We saw a lot of churches also from the inside. My main and extra are from the City parish church of St. Nicholas. Very baroque. I didn't find a reason for it, neither in the church, nor in the internet, but: as you can see (I hope) in the main, the nave and the chancel are not in line! The chancel (or choir room) is a bit turned to the right. Perhaps one of both was, as the church was built, oriented better to the East than the other. Normally large Latin cross churches are a decent cross, one line crossing one other line.
My extra shows an altar in the Northern side-aisle. It has more ornamentation than most (if not all) of the churches in the North of the Netherlands :)
