Moving

Today I went with A to Mum's flat, and we took a minimal set of things that she'll need in the care home. It was strange to be there without Mum, removing the things that had been so important to her there. Fortunately we could take the chair where she spent most of her waking hours. Then we went to the hospital to see her, taking the last paper that would be delivered to her flat. She had been moved to another ward, and was in a very confused state, having twisted past events and conversations into bizarre paranoid fantasies, with no scope for reassurance or discussion. Suddenly we had to leave, as one of the patients in the ward had just tested positive for Covid, and it was something of a relief.

From there we returned to the flat to get a few more things we'd remembered, and A went into town to meet L. I took Mum's stuff to the care home, and started to set up her room. Back home, I worked through the mound of paperwork from the care home, and then rang Mum's sister to bring her up-to-date with events. After that I was shattered, having not slept well last night due to the post-running endorphin rush, so I had a nap.

In the evening I walked Django while A wrote Mum's name into the clothes we'd brought. I didn't think to order iron-on name tapes until last night!
