A perfect spot

Another long day of 250 miles. The scenery varied between agricultural land and long stretches of forest, by-passing some large towns and Uppsala which I remember from history - the Reformation perhaps, or Age of Enlightenment?

There were huge queues of traffic heading into it from the opposite direction and many traffic police out at roundabouts - we saw two fighter jets going over but I don’t think Putin has invaded.

I prefer a more leisurely pace and really should have researched places in advance to find nice walks or things to do en route There were a few big towns which would have been interesting but Mr C was on a mission to reach this beautiful spot found on the Park4night app. I really don’t like enclosed places like forest paths and parks. This location at what had been a fishing settlement (but now seems to be holiday homes) is perfect. Some locals were marking out parking places in the area we wanted to stop in as there is a music event on tonight, local Swedish singing, but we got permission to park at a rough bit of ground at the far end of the car park. It’s free - the other place has to be paid by Switch but we only have Mobil parking.

We managed to get a walk down by the harbour and round the headland to a lighthouse, discovering 2 old smokehouses on the way, before the rain started. The music event is outside someone’s house. We were told it usually has good weather.

I’m not looking at blips just now as I seem to need my data for finding out essential info!
