Natures Curtain
Yesterday's weather caught up with me today but in a more evil and sinister way. The rain pelted down, so loud I couldn't hear hubby speak, coming from all directions it lashed at the house. We both looked at our gutters overflowing - droplets falling the length of our verandha forming a flowing curtain between us and the garden. The wind sending autumn leaves swirling to the ground and puddles growing as drops splattered sending ripples in all directions - it was short lived.
Hubby went up to the hangar and then I got the phone call - bring mops, buckets and wear your gumboots, the hangar was flooded. Containers of nuts and bolts were full to the rim with water, plywood soaked right through and worst of all the much treasured and expensive plans were dripping! Hubby was not a happy man. We mopped and layed the plans out to dry - hopefully there will be no watermarks, the plywood will be fine just won't look as nice and the many containers have all been emptied. Things have been moved to another part of the hangar so hopefully all will be fine next time there is a down pour.
So not a lot of photography was done today, just a quick reflection of the autumn trees on a window at the airfield - reminded me of a curtain. The gentle folds of the curtain are the bars to protect entry through the window.
The down pour that was here one minute and gone the next but boy it left a lasting impression!
