Marsh Gentian
I was pleased to see that our local colony of Marsh Gentian has survived the drought and come into flower. This rare flower grows on wet heath (rather than marsh as its name suggests) and our heath has completely dried up so I feared it might be lost. I counted seven flowering spikes, well down on last year's numbers, but more may come over the next few weeks.
