The last orchid

Thunder, lightening and several hours of torrential rain this morning, then I nipped out to photograph the Autumn Lady's-tresses (Spiranthes spirales) that have appeared on the verge in front of the house. This tiny flower is the last orchid of the year, a sure sign that autumn is not far off.
