Roundabout

Millenia ago (at least in PC timescales) Ermintrude's arrival was marked on blip.  She's now on her last legs, mostly due to Windross updates making life too difficult, though she has recently taken to refusing to shut down (powering instantly back up again).

Thus, a newcomer was needed.  Slightly surprised that I 'needed' to go back to the Cambridge PC specialists World Of Computers that I'd used countless times previously.  I'd rather assumed that there might be small, friendly, competent pc-building businesses around here - apparently not.

Thus we have Florence.  Lots of speed.  Lots of capacity.  LOTS of hassle with Windross and Microsoft.  (Yeah, I know, mac, linux, yada yada - yeah, well, pragmatism).

Florence was going to be Dougal until I rediscovered I'd named the laptop Dougal.  The 2013 blip explains the naming.

Have now, eventually, got enough hardware and software back up in the photography chain to get a blip up.
