Day 3. Community Food Growing
The Feast Day of Saint Bartholomew.
We have a rainy morning,17c, but it is so welcome and still mild. I got a bit drenched on my morning canal walk, but I was glad to see the swan family gliding along in a line, through the green algae. It is breaking up a little thankfully.. I then went to the High Street to jot down the number of the dentist sister group in Blackburn. I discovered they are not taking on NHS patients, only private ones. Emergency dentistry means going to Manchester. I would like to see free well provided dentistry for over 60s.
The blip is a view of the raised beds. There are a good range of healthy vegetables, including onions, sweetcorn, herbs, runner beans, pumpkins, peas and courgettes. Thankfully the rain is helping them to do well at a time when in the south the hosepipe ban will have a big impact on gardens and allotments.
Take care everyone and thanks for visiting my site today.
