Strike!

Edinburgh certainly not at her best with the bin collectors strike. There is a certain amount of bagging and stacking but I do fear rats as I walk the streets.  

Arrived up here at 6 for the first TV festival in three years.  Had dinner with a friend H in the centre of the city. Most of the restaurants we wanted to try were shut but an old favourite in George St was open so we ate there.  

I am staying chez @xtoph1 but it was odd to be there without them - although the flat was nice and welcoming. 

I had been looking forward to the train journey up but three bits of bad news and subsequent firefighting meant I arrived quite worried and jangly.
