What did the British Empire ever do for us...?

Went for a wander down Glasgow Green today with B Jr. The sun was shining and there were new swingparks to explore. I would have blipped some of the goings-on at these but I'm conscious that a guy with a camera in a playground is nearly always looked upon with suspicion these days, even with his own kid in tow. What a sad state of affairs...

Anyway, from another part of the Green, this is Nelson's obelisk, the earliest tribute anywhere in the country to the good admiral's victories over the bally Frenchies, back in the days when it was good to be (North) British.
