Puddles…..

Early this morning Maisie and I walked the downstream sections of the Taylor River paths. Many sections of the paths are still covered in water….. some just rainwater and others discolored flood waters. Here is Maisie running across a path.
State Highway 6 and State Highway 63 are still impassable and closed. They won’t be open until next week. The damage to those highways is enormous. Views from a helicopter on the TV News show very clearly the widespread devastation of roading, properties, housing, landslides throughout the Marlborough Sounds and other rural areas. Heartbreaking sights.
