Arriverderci

Sadly we had to say goodbye to Venice today. This is the St Stae vaporetto stop just a few yards from our hotel. A good landmark to watch out for whilst travelling up the Grand Canal. It was said to have been founded in a side canal in 966, but the original church was demolished in 1678 and the current church realigned to face the Grand Canal. This was our last view of this imposing church as we sailed away on the waterbus to the airport.
