An indoorsy day

The rain has eased this afternoon after a night of yet more heavy, persistent rain - we even had a hint of sunshine during the afternoon.  The reports  were coming in of yet more damage, evacuations and flooding.  Roads are closed heading to town so any ideas I had of loading my shovel into my car and heading off to help somewhere with some mud shoveling were laid to rest quickly.  

I popped over to see my neighbour J, carefully jumping over the small river of sewerage that's running past my gate.  She wasn't in, but came over to see me later.   As part of the local Civil Defense crew she's been involved in some of the work going on at the moment.  No help is being sought at the moment but I've said I'm shovel-ready when needed.  Big ups to you J and to everyone else who is working hard to stand our city back up after a pretty rough few days.  Had another visitor in the afternoon too so it turned into quite a social day.

Minnie and I enjoyed a spot of TV watching together when I realised I hadn't taken the camera out all day so she became my model.  Bless her.
