Sally Mair - Loving life

St Ebba's

We had a visit to our lawyers again today finally signing of our updated wills and powers of attorney. My eagle teachers eye picked up an error in mine which was rather embarrassedly rushed away and corrected. It's funny how these things jump out at me. All done now and hopefully the PoA will be registered soon, there's a 6 month delay getting them to court apparently but they can be rushed through if need be. Hopefully that won't be necessary.
On leaving the lawyer's office I headed down the rest coast to Eyemouth. I had been invited to a farewell party for one of our memberd who was moving to Stirling after 31 years in the Borders. The road down was clear and the weather in Eyemouth rather warmer than at home. We had fish and chips in a restaurant at the harbour then decamped up the hill to St Ebba's pisky Church for coffee and cake followed by Compline. A lovely end to the evening. The church is small and beautiful. These doves on the font cover were given in memory of a member, a kind and gentle man. The window is fairly new according to the inscription but I haven't been able find out any more about it yet. I thought it was beautiful, more doves, or is one a gannet? and a sea and fishing theme. Very appropriate and beautiful.
