Lagavulin Whisky
A fine sunny morning, although windy, then clouded over. A rainy afternoon, and now a sunny evening.
Up early, and packed my bag, including uniform. Headed out walkies, and dropped Sammy off at Madeline's. Met Laura at mam's for a cuppa, then off to the airport. I left Sumburgh, a flight to Glasgow, then onwards to Islay this evening. I arrived at my B&B, Glenmachrie House, and a warm welcome from owner Rachel. A tour around Port Ellen this evening, and then an early night.
Loganair Islay are needing a hand for a few days, and since we are fully staffed just now, they were able to send me down to help out. Great to meet the team on arrival, get my times and instructions for tomorrow too. My first time on the isle, I have a hired car, and hope to get some time to explore. One thing I've seen a few of so far, that's distilleries. Since I'm here on business, I'll not be able to sample the whisky on a tour. Islay whiskies are quite peaty, not to my tastes, I like a 14yo Oban. Taken after hours at Lagavulin distillery, near Port Ellen, Islay.
