International…
…………………………………….Airports
Esculators leading to the departure level at the Auckland international airport.
A minimal number of passengers were wandering the terminal as it was midnight. Most shops, cafes, duty free ect were closed for the day, or permanently closed or on reduced hours. Nevertheless the area looked smart and welcoming, even in these post Covid times as the nation struggles to its feet with staff shortages
Making our way through security on arrival was a breeze. No queues at all. It could well be different earlier in the day.
After an uneventful flight we arrived in Singapore before sunrise on a short transit stopover. It was surprising how busy it was the airport was at that time of the day.
The extra photo is looking through double layers of windows at the aircraft waiting for us to board. Blue sky! Sunshine and an outside temperature of 35C. It was incredibly hot inside too.
As I write this we are on the last leg of our journey - almost thirteen hours in the air this time. The good news of course is the time difference and we gain time along the way. Quite an adjustment for our body clocks for several days!
The on board internet is frustrating.
I’m sure there will be stars and comments for yesterday’s blip so I thank you all in advansßce.
We have arrived! My eyes are having trouble staying open so it is an early night for us ready for a busy day tomorrow.
