MOORHEN

I did some long-overdue chores today which meant that by the time I got out with the camera the sun had disappeared and it was really dark and overcast, though we only had a few drops of rain. I just made a quick circuit of the lake in the park and liked this moorhen with its absurd feet and painted beak.

I thought the news of Jeremy Paxman's departure from University Challenge was an excuse to briefly relive my few moments in the studio lights 16 years ago (Extra). (Blimey! Where has that time gone?) Paxo was admitting to his grey hairs, I mostly wasn't, though only a year younger than him. I'm sorry that he has Parkinson's, that's rotten luck.
