Catch-up in the garden

August is tilting towards that point where you feel small hints and advance warnings of autumn ahead. A few leaves changing colour slightly; growth slowing down in the garden.
Frieda and I planted sunflower seeds late in the spring and they are just coming into flower now - a welcome splash of brightness.
After avoiding any energetic gardening during the heatwave, I've been catching up today.
