London in the rain

Looking forward to going to London, with a friend, to see a play but the travel was tricky.  ThamesLink trains had been cancelled or delayed and the information was useless.  We were indecisive as to wait or try another route but sat it out in the hopes that one would arrive eventually which it did.  Out at Blackfriars and a walk to the National with only time for a quick cup of tea.  Fortunately the play, which was based on Sheridan’s The Rivals, was a comedy, light hearted and amusing.  The theatre was full with very few empty seats and the audience was very appreciative.

Coming out onto the South Bank we stepped into huge puddles and torrential rain.  We discarded the idea of having a meal and made our wet way back to Blackfriars to ensure that we caught a train in case anymore had been cancelled.  A tasty pizza in a local restaurant completed our day out.  Apart from the journey and the weather we had a good time!
