Shieldbug nymph on hollyhock leaf

Trying to blend in on a leaf infested with hollyhock rust, see the extra for how that looks on the bottom side of a leaf. Strange because they're on a very dry and sunny place and obviously there hasn't been any substantial rain for ages (unless we count yesterday's sudden and totally unexpected cloud burst). Apparently the hollyhocks are now stuck with it :-(
