Period Poverty is in the news today in Scotland.
Public services / buildings & educational places to provide free period products to those who need them. Many places already are providing a few products especially libraries, schools & colleges.
When I used to volunteer at the local foodbank we only had a few products as a pack rather than individual items to hand out, but could hand out with other toiletries just as if part of your normal shopping list.
Taking quite a few years to get to this point. I can't think how much I've spent over the years but this will hopefully make a huge difference to women & girls financially but also for better health.
It is not nice to get caught out unexpectedly so if products are available more easily regardless of financial circumstances it will make a difference.
Better for health if changing more often too & being able to participate more in everyday activities, not worrying or being embarrassed by having to excuse yourself.
Don't think I've taken a pic of a tampon before!
Gardener didn't come to cut hedge due to thunder, lightning & lots of rain. The garden badly needs it. Although the large rumble just before six in the morning woke me up, certainly a relief it was that.
