Coronation Bus Shelter 1953, Orton

I met a dear friend GH at the Orton Scar Cafe for lunch today.  We had a good catch up and it was lovely to see her.  The cafe only had a limited menu on offer as the chef had gone off sick (was it something he eat?) but the toasties were delicious.

From here to the local chocolate shop and I can recommend the produce.

It may say something about the importance of public transport to rural communities (at least in the 1950s) that the villagers chose to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 with a bus shelter.
