Leighton Moss
Wednesday August 10
After a good breakfast at our guest house, the four of us went to visit Leighton Moss, RSPB site. Peter and Judy have visited numerous times before, but it was a first time for us. Unfortunately, it’s not the best time of year to visit, so we didn’t see anything special from the various hides looking out over the reed beds, but there were several swans, and the robins near the outside tables of the cafe were fairly tame, hoping for a few left-over scraps! It was quite hot, so we had a couple of visits to the cafe to refresh ourselves. On the way back to our guest house, we went via Arnside (see extra). When we got back to our accommodation, we enjoyed another cup of tea sitting out on our balcony.
