Spuds

It is so dry that we decided to dig the potatoes, always better when there’s no mud. We didn’t know what to expect as it’s a newly dug piece of ground with many rocks. It did get several good bags of horse manure before they went in, and I’m sure there was some rain back then!
Well, we were delighted! The biggest potatoes we have ever grown and there was still some moisture down there, although it’s not been watered at all. In fact they are so big that one will probably feed us for a meal so they will last for ages if they keep well. They are safely put away, fortunately as it has just started raining with thunder and lightning!
