In the shade…

At mid afternoon we needed to feel some air moving around us and decided a walk was the best answer.

From here to Shamley Green, via bridleways taking us through wooded glades, did the trick. We ended up at The Red Lion some 6K later. We enjoyed a drink and a dessert before taking the more direct road route back to The Lodge. By then the patio was in shade and we got our books out again. I’m not sure my trainers will recover but we didn’t take long, and it’s been a good day.

This camper truck and its occupants were the only other people we saw on our walk. We emerged from the woods into the clearing. The only people that is, until we got to The Red Lion. A beautiful pub on a beautiful green and just where we expected to find it.
