Out on the Wirral
Monday
Roger spent the morning finishing off the bricks down the side of Bernard’s driveway, and Janet and John both had appointments, but after a salad lunch, we all went out to the Wirral Peninsular for the afternoon. The weather is warming up again, and it was a lovely afternoon. First we went to the Country Park and walked (with Bernard on his mobility scooter) along part of the Wirral Way, which follows the bed of part of the former Birkenhead railway route. After a while we peeled off and took a path down to the beach, leaving Bernard to return on the trail. Back at the beginning, we enjoyed an ice cream, before continuing in the car to West Kirby, where we walked along the wall containing the Marine Lake which allows sailing dinghies and paddle boards to sail even at low tide. We stopped for dinner at the Beefeater on our way home.
